A native Carolinian, having lived many years in the romantic and
historic city of Charleston, SC, observing the clever
interplay of shapes, colors and textures of that southern
environment, I was captivated ! And
travel, such as experiencing the soft light in the
countryside of France have definitely influenced my style
and the appreciation art has in all our lives.
With rich brush strokes or dabs of pure color by
pallet knife, my style blends impressionism with a
realistic approach in selected elements striving always to
convey a story combined with delicious colors. I have
enjoyed teaching oil and watercolor and passing this
valued knowledge and skill on. An art graduate, I've
studied with Master artists, such as Daniel E. Greene and Zoltan
Szabo. My work has won many awards and ribbons and is in
many important corporate and private collections.
As
the demand for fine art prints has grown, we have opened
J. Thompson Artist and Associates Gicleé printing studio.
These quality, limited edition reproductions are hand
printed on rag or photo paper and fine art canvas .
